With electric vehicles becoming increasing popular — especially as gas prices soar — industry experts say future repairs could be costly and harder to access unless automakers provide service information to independent mechanics.

Information on how to repair many parts of EVs is currently limited, with manufacturers preferring drivers service their vehicles at dealerships, said Emily Chung, an independent mechanic and owner of AutoNiche in Markham, Ont.

“All the manufacturers, their [fuel-powered] engines are pretty much the same,” she said. “We understand the basics, it’s just the plumbing around it that is different.”

“When it comes to EV technology, though, every manufacturer does it differently and there’s no standardized way to do this.”

That means mechanics like Chung can do basic maintenance, such as Replacing brakes and swapping tires, on EVs — but not service the complex, high-voltage systems that drive electrified vehicles.

Steam Early Access smash hit Vampire Survivors has just received its newest patch, bringing the game one step closer to its full 1.0 release.

Patch 9.0, nicknamed “The Flashy One” by developer Poncle, adds one character, a bonus challenge stage called Boss Rash, four achievements, two Arcanas, and a new hidden game mechanic as well as minor tweaks and bug fixes.

Boss Rash, as the name suggests, is a boss rush stage, and new Arcanas Gemini and Twilight Requiem allow players to further experiment with their playstyle.

A new game mechanic as well as more secrets to uncover will give players plenty of content to satisfy their thirst for Vampire Survivors.

Since we last covered Vampire Survivors, the game has been receiving regular updates every two to four weeks and now has over 100,000 positive reviews on Steam.

New Delhi: More than five years after his arrest, a Christian mechanic booked on the charges of blasphemy was sentenced to death by a Lahore court Monday. Still has been in jail since 2017 and his case riddled with adjournments. The accused, who has a wife and a daughter, also lost his mother in 2019 while he was behind the bars.

According to reports, in June 2017, Masih got into a dispute with a Muslim customer in Lahore after he repaired the latter’s bike. When Still asked for payment, the customer did not pay the entire amount and asked for a waiver on grounds that he was a religious devotee. Still refused the request, saying he believed in Christ. The issue of money led to a heated argument and a crowd gathered, accusing Masih of “disrespecting” the Prophet Muhammad. The mechanic had allegedly said that for Christians, Jesus was supreme.

A Christian mechanic has been sentenced to death for blasphemy in Pakistan after he was found guilty of insulting the Prophet Mohammed by saying that Jesus Christ is the ‘true prophet’.

Ashfaq Masih, 34, was arrested in 2017 after he got into a verbal disagreement with a Muslim customer at his motorbike repair shop in Lahore after the man refused to pay his bill.

The customer had asked for a waiver on the grounds that he was a religious devotee – but Still refused the request, saying he believed in Jesus Christ and wasn’t interested in the man’s religious status as a Muslim.

Still was accused of ‘disrespecting’ the Prophet Muhammad and arrested after he allegedly said that for Christians, Jesus was the ‘true prophet’.
