Importance of Animals Rights
We can say that animals and human beings have some similarities in the sense that they have consciousness and they are also very responsive. Animals respond in different ways and if you ask pet owners, they can tell you that each animals is unique, precious in its own identity, and they should be cherished and protected. Since animals are lower than human beings, there are many people who believe that they cannot feel and that we should not be so concerned about animal welfare.
There are many people who believe that animals have no basic right to life that they deserve. There are other who believe that humans are above all animals and makes a moral distinction between them. Lastly are those people who believe that animals cannot feel, sense, or experience the same things that a human can and that an animal should not be given the same status as a human. The wrong sense of righteousness and entitlement has influenced these belief systems. If people will just overcome their biases, then it all boils that to animals having their own rights in this world.
Another right that animals have is the right to thrive in a clean, safe, and sustainable environment. Humans have been known to wreak havoc on some sensitive ecosystems in the world like turning rainforests into flat plains and coral reefs into ocean deserts. If we destroy the environment for human gain, then we are also destroying the only places which animals can call home. That is why animal rights and the green movement are closely linked to each other.
One of the most popular displays of human greed is using animals for products for profit. Because of what they can get out of it, animals mortality is completely disregarded by many of these people. Poachers, shark finners , and other people who view animals are commodities are many these days. A dollar sign has now replaced the basic rights of animals to live. Viable alternatives to animal products should be considered if we believe that animals have the right to live free of suffering.
Animal rights activities have a strong sense of core beliefs guided by an unwavering morality. Here are the things that animal rights advocates believe in.
Animals are conscious beings, not machines or objects. There are also things that animals are interested in. Human beings should be responsible to respect interests of animals. Human beings should not exploit animals. Human beings should not treat animals as objects. Humans have no right to kill animals.
It takes volumes to really cover the scope of animals rights.
